Each signer must be present at least one of the forms of ID listed below. The ID must be current or, if expired, have been issued within the last 5 years; contains the signer’s photograph, physical description, and signature; and bear a serial or other identifying number (Civil Code , Section 1185).

Note: Must be issued by California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation if the inmate is in prison or any form of inmate identification issued by a sheriff‘s department if the inmate is in custody in a local detention facility.
ALL signers that wish to have their signature notarized must be present at signing and have a valid picture I.D.
Only if the notary is uncertain of a signer identity, willingness, mental awareness, or has cause to suspect fraud. Notaries may not refuse service on basis of race, religion, nationality, or lifestyle.
